LOLA Object Manipulation in an Unstructured Environment
نویسندگان
چکیده
1995 Robot Competition and Exhibition, held in conjunction with the Fourteenth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, was the culmination of a three-month design and implementation period for an indoor navigation system for topological maps. This article describes the major components of the robot’s navigation architecture. It also summarizes the experiences and lessons learned from the competition.

Passive Non-Prehensile Manipulation of a Specific Object on Predictable Helix Path Based on Mechanical Intelligence
Object manipulation techniques in robotics can be categorized in two major groups including manipulation with and without grasp. The aim of this paper is to develop an object manipulation method where in addition to being grasp-less, the manipulation task is done in a passive approach. In this method, linear and angular positions of the object are changed and its manipulation path is controlled...

Robot Competition and Exhibition, held as part of the Fourteenth International Conference on Artificial Intelligence. The event called for a robot to pick up trash in an unstructured environment and sort it such that the recyclable trash winded up in the recycle bin and the regular trash in the trash bin. The only allowable information lola was given beforehand were model-based descriptions of ...
متن کاملPlanning and Control of Two-Link Rigid Flexible Manipulators in Dynamic Object Manipulation Missions
This research focuses on proposing an optimal trajectory planning and control method of two link rigid-flexible manipulators (TLRFM) for Dynamic Object Manipulation (DOM) missions. For the first time, achievement of DOM task using a rotating one flexible link robot was taken into account in [20]. The authors do not aim to contribute on either trajectory tracking or vibration control of the End-...
متن کاملInteractive Segmentation, Tracking, and Kinematic Modeling of Unknown Articulated Objects
We present an interactive perceptual skill for segmenting, tracking, and kinematic modeling of 3D articulated objects. This skill is a prerequisite for general manipulation in unstructured environments. Robot-environment interaction is used to move an unknown object, creating a perceptual signal that reveals the kinematic properties of the object. The resulting perceptual information can then i...
متن کاملTowards Adaptive and Autonomous Robots Developing Visually Guided Object Manipulation on the iCub Humanoid
Although robotics has seen advances over the last decades they are still not in wide-spread use outside industrial applications. Proposed scenarios for robots range from cleaning tasks, grocery shopping to elderly care, helping in a hospital, etc. These involve the robots working together, helping and coexisting with humans in daily life. From this the need to deal with a more unstructured envi...
